One Panel Only

We have recognised some big problems with basic menus:

  • From the menu root to the desired item, the mouse path gets too long
  • The mouse must be moved in a very precise manner, any mistake might cause the lost of the category path

    • This is something we avoid by having one panel, where you navigate and start the applications. Thus, the mouse path gets very short. By having bigger click areas, the mouse movements need not be as precise as with other menus.

    In the upper left corner, one has the navigation path (see picture above). The user sees at first sight where in the structure he currently is and - by clicking an icon there - can move backwards in the structure.
